1) There was plenty of time to walk away. The guy in grey even gave a clear exit: "Get the fuck out of my face!" Had the other guy done that, odds are good he'd have gotten away unharmed.
2) Don't stand in striking range and do nothing. Either attack or get out of range.
3) If the first sucker punch lands well enough, you probably won't have the possibility to stop the rest of the blows that come right after.
4) The "fight" lasts only three seconds. Remember all my nagging about not wasting time by doing techniques that force you to do an extra move? Every fraction of a second counts and you shave those off with good body mechanics, footwork and sound tactical choices.
