There are two types of interpersonal confrontation we must prepare for:
Brewing Confrontations- where we or someone we are with are engaged in some type of verbal dialogue prior to any action
and
Flash Confrontations - this is where no dialogue takes place and action is first, essentially an ambush.
This young girl experienced a flash confrontation, no verbal indicators of potential trouble simply SPACE being closed and then an assault.
Consider : awareness levels when in public venues and your understanding of proxemics an spatial control skills.
