d.b.brook@leeds.ac.uk Biography
Dave is the Head of Performance Clothing Research. He has been involved in a large body of research work concerning moisture management in fibrous assemblies. David’s areas of expertise include liquid transport mechanisms in orientated fibres (wicking), air and gas permeability of textiles, water vapour transmission mechanisms through textile assemblies and coated and laminated fabrics and resistance to water penetration of similar materials.
Other areas of research are the performance and degradation of ropes and the impact protection properties of helmets.
Research Interests
Comfort and protection of clothing systems for stressful environments and activities; the role of design and technology in the performance and personal protective equipment.

"Here is some general information.
If you want to avoid condensation use Paramo, Pertex or Ventile but you will need to keep up the proofing to deflect very heavy rain.
Event is more comfortable than Goretex and equally water resistant. Don't use Paclite if you want to work hard in the rain. You will be soaked in condensation.
Hope this helps.
yours"
